Angela Offerman, Attorney at Kane Russell Coleman & Logan PC, Elected to Chair of the Young Lawyers Committee of the Bankruptcy Section of the State Bar of Texas

Kane Russell Coleman & Logan PC is proud to announce that Angela Offerman, attorney in the firm’s Houston office, was selected as the Chair of the Young Lawyers Committee of the Bankruptcy Section of the State Bar of Texas.

 

The Young Lawyers Committee exists to increase the involvement and profile of young attorneys and turnaround professionals involved in bankruptcy and reorganization practice in Texas.

National Trucking Company Obtains Defense Verdict in Multi-vehicle Accident Case

Aaron Speer and Zach Mayer, attorneys in the Dallas office of Kane Russell Coleman and Logan PC, successfully defended a national transportation carrier in a multi-vehicle accident that resulted in serious injury to the Plaintiff. The jury apportioned 100% responsibility upon another vehicle involved in the accident, even though it never contacted Plaintiff’s vehicle and the driver was not present at the trial.

Federal Judge Dismisses Qui Tam Complaint Involving Management of $16 Billion of Shared-Loss Assets

Attorneys from Kane Russell Coleman & Logan PC’s Financial Services Litigation practice group successfully defended Branch Banking and Trust Company (“BB&T”) against allegations that BB&T had manipulated sales of promissory notes in order to inflate FDIC reimbursement payments. On April 11, 2014, District Judge Jane J. Boyle adopted all of BB&T’s arguments and dismissed Mark Wismer’s qui tam complaint with prejudice.
