The article summarizes a recent survey conducted by China Daily and APCO Worldwide on Chinese companies doing business in the U.S. According to the article, despite unfamiliar regulations, cultural barriers and high operating costs, most Chinese companies doing business in the U.S. describe their experiences as successful and are optimistic about the future. Marcy Rothman and Danny Guerra, and legal assistant Sharee Wilson, obtained a defense verdict in Speirs v. Union Pacific Railroad. On Monday, February 18, 2013, after a week-long trial in Bexar County, Texas, the jury found Union Pacific not negligent and assigned 100% of the negligence for the incident and injuries on the Plaintiff. The Plaintiff claimed to have been seriously injured and disabled due to back injuries, and sought to recover in excess of $1.2 million. Read more...
