Grace Guan is an astute associate attorney who helps clients find practical, advantageous solutions in complex business bankruptcy and reorganization proceedings. She advises debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, creditors’ committees, and bankruptcy trustees in all aspects of bankruptcy. Clients who work with Grace can expect more than a knowledgeable professional. Grace is a results-oriented attorney with a strong background in finance and tax matters. Her diverse experience enables her to immerse herself in all aspects of bankruptcy workout and provide a valuable counsel to both creditors and debtors in the current economic environment.
Prior to joining KRCL, Grace clerked for the Honorable James M. Carr in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Indiana, where she worked closely on the ITT Technical Bankruptcy case which involved over 30 states. She also reviewed motions and proposed orders, drafted opinions and judgments, prepared case files in advance of hearings and advised counsel regarding case management and procedural requirements.
Grace holds a Juris Doctor from Indiana University Maurer School of Law where she was awarded ‘Bankruptcy Student of the Year’ for the class of 2016 and the Sigmund J. Beck award. Grace also received an LL.B. from China University of Politic Science and Law. During her studies in Beijing, she served as an assistant prosecutor in the Beijing Chongwen District Attorney’s Office.
Prior to law school, Grace worked as a financial advisor at China Construction Bank.
