Karen Cox is an experienced real estate attorney who concentrates in leasing, development and construction. Over the course of her career, she has spent the majority of her practice guiding developers, retailers, restaurants, government entities, and owners and operators of commercial and multi-family properties, including everything from free-standing restaurant buildings to regional shopping malls.
Karen represents both owners and contractors in preparation and negotiation of all facets of construction contracts and other related agreements. She is the co-chair of the firm’s Construction Practice Group.
Karen’s experience also includes the negotiation of simultaneous multiple leasing transactions with national tenants in connection with commercial, retail, mixed use and condominium development, construction and financing transactions and complex multi-party operating, development and easement agreements.
She was formerly counsel to a Dallas-based owner, operator and manager of nationwide retail, office and industrial properties. Before entering private practice, she served as Briefing Attorney to the Honorable George T. Ellis, Justice of the Court of Appeals, 14th Supreme Judicial District in Houston, Texas.
