Lisa Hur Formanek, a senior attorney at KRCL, has more than 15 years’ experience helping investors, developers, REITs, national retailers and international companies find creative solutions to real estate transactions and financing. She represents clients in various facets of complex commercial real estate and corporate transactions, including negotiating and closing single and multi-property portfolio acquisitions and dispositions; commercial retail and office leasing; development; financing; and corporate organizational matters.
Prior to joining KRCL, Lisa served as associate general counsel at a publicly traded real estate development company, where she negotiated real estate transactions totaling over $2 billion, including the acquisition and disposition of commercial office buildings, shopping centers, hotels and unimproved property. This invaluable, extensive in-house experience means that she understands clients’ priorities and parameters. Her unique experience, combined with her collaborative approach to acting as an extension of clients’ in-house teams, has given her a deep understanding of the real estate industry and corporate culture.
Lisa also drafts and negotiates purchase and sale agreements for acquisitions and dispositions of land, air rights, and commercial properties, and performs due diligence and title and survey review. She frequently negotiates commercial retail leases, including a lease with the world’s largest information technology company. Her work has not gone unnoticed. Lisa negotiated a nearly 500,000 sq. ft. commercial office lease for international telecommunications client that was awarded the “Office Deal of the Year” in 2011 by the Dallas Business Journal.
