Bringing a wealth of cumulative knowledge and experience in research, law, and business, Kelly McKee draws upon his rich background to serve clients as a litigator. Skilled in analysis and efficiency, Kelly pays great attention to all the important details and then utilizes that information to effectively advocate for clients. His certifications and background in customer service, hospitality, retail management, financial auditing, and sales and marketing lends a valuable real-world vantage point to his practice and grants him unique insight into his clients’ businesses, priorities, and needs.
Prior to starting his practice, Kelly worked full time as a law clerk for three years. Since joining the firm, he has worked on a variety of matters in a range of industries, including energy, construction, trucking, insurance, landlord-tenant, and retail, where he litigates disputes concerning personal injury, contracts, premises liability, construction defects, legal malpractice, indemnity, insurance coverage, and commercial matters. These cases present a wide array of complexities involving the parties, procedural law, substantive law, evidentiary matters, and the conflict of laws, and Kelly relishes the intellectual challenges they provide.
Kelly appreciates the opportunity to develop new tactics and techniques to resolve matters when dealing with disputes within the realm of construction law, transportation, and massive commercial litigation. He enjoys multifaceted cases that involve extensive multi-level statutory schemes, where he understands the important and often complex regulatory interplay between the states and federal government. He has been deeply involved in litigation regarding the development of a midstream oil and gas storage facility, as well as litigation stemming from the construction of public infrastructure, and recently litigation involving natural disasters.
Kelly is happy to be part of a team that strives to find every available defense and strategy and that will put clients in the absolute best position to resolve their matters optimally and as quickly as possible. He admires the vigorous big-firm style advocacy that the team undertakes for clients without the negative factors and overhead issues common to large firms. In addition, Kelly is always open to charitable opportunities, working with groups, and performing community outreach.
