With over three decades of experience, real estate attorney Darlene Gerson concentrates her practice on leasing and development for national retail and restaurant clients, many of those Fortune 500 Companies.

Darlene's expertise in leasing, including her vast experience with all aspects of the ground lease process, as well as hybrid conversions, has allowed her the opportunity to greatly benefit her clients from the inception of the transaction to its conclusion.

Darlene's practice began as a landlord’s attorney, handling leasing transactions related to some of the most substantial towers in metropolitan Columbus, Ohio.  However, over time Darlene's emphasis has shifted to a more tenant-based practice, the combination allowing her a more comprehensive understanding of the needs, priorities and goals of those parties involved in the negotiation.

Relishing the team effort and the deal-making aspect of her practice, Darlene always strives to respond quickly to client's needs and complete transactions in a felicitous manner.  Her top-notch people skills help her excel at reading individuals and determining the optimal course of action to bring any transaction to a beneficial conclusion.  Darlene is a devoted “people person,” who cultivates and maintains relationships with her clients as well as those principals and attorneys who may be on the other side of the negotiation.  She never forgets that with leasing the conclusion of the negotiation is but the beginning of the relationship.

Away from the Office

Darlene enjoys staying active by working out, which includes weight lifting, riding her "cannot live without" Peloton bike, the practice of yoga, and hiking with her husband and her beloved Goldendoodle, Samantha.  Sami has many hidden talents, including being the perfect model for Darlene's photography hobby, and future plans to join a reading program with children, as Sami has recently been certified a therapy dog.
