Kayla received her J.D. from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law.

Kayla served on the Executive Board of the International Law Review Association as the Senior Case Note and Comment Editor. She also worked with the First Amendment Clinic, assisting journalists and media clients in the free exercise of their constitutional rights, and with the COVID-19 Helpline Project, providing low-income Dallas residents with free legal advice about housing, employment, and health concerns during the pandemic. Prior to law school, she attended the University of Texas at Tyler, graduating with a B.A. in political science and mass communication.

Away From the Office

Kayla enjoys reading, playing the piano, expanding her collection of houseplants, and spending time outside with her husband and family.
