Kane Russell Coleman & Logan PC Strengthens Energy Practice Group with Four New Hires

The law firm of Kane Russell Coleman & Logan PC (“KRCL”) has expanded its Energy Group in Houston with the addition of four attorneys. David Bond, Thomas G. Ciarlone, Jr., Andrea “AJ” Johnson, and Demetri Economou have joined KRCL after working at a national law firm that primarily represents companies in the oil and gas industry.

David Bond brings more than 30 years of litigation experience to the Firm. He has comprehensive experience in a full spectrum of commercial and business litigation, including specifically litigation of all types in the energy industry. David has earned the distinction of being recognized as AV “Preeminent” – the highest rating awarded by Martindale-Hubbell.

Thomas Ciarlone, Jr., focuses his practice on oil and gas litigation and general commercial litigation. With nearly fifteen years of complex litigation experience, Tom has resolved a wide spectrum of business disputes for Fortune 500 and other large corporate clients, including handling intricate title litigation challenging the ownership of royalty and other mineral interests and representing pipeline companies in trespass lawsuits and tag-along TRO proceedings. In addition, he frequently advises oilfield service companies in a variety of sophisticated commercial cases, including in a range of matters involving the breach of confidentiality agreements and the theft and misappropriation of trade secrets.

Andrea “AJ” Johnson has been representing employers and practicing employment and commercial litigation for more than 30 years, here in Texas and throughout the United States. AJ is has been named a Texas SuperLawyer for 8 straight years, is AV-rated by the Martindale-Hubbell, has been selected as a Preeminent Woman Lawyer, and has been recognized as a “Top Lawyer” in both employment and commercial litigation. She also obtained one of the largest commercial verdicts in Texas in 2013 (as cited by Texas Lawyer). As the “go-to” lawyer for employers, AJ provides critical, day-to-day advice for numerous oil and gas, energy services, and other companies on all manner of employment issues, such as overtime and compensation, individual and class action disputes, RIFs, WARN Act issues, noncompetition agreements, confidentiality drafting and interpretation, 409A compliance, drug screening, FMLA & ADA compliance, as well as general employee hiring, discipline and counseling.

Demetri Economou is well-versed in property rights and monitors developments in state and federal regulations relating to various oil and gas issues, especially hydraulic fracturing. He advises clients on matters relating to protection of trade secrets and proprietary information. In addition, he has experience in labor and employment law litigation, having worked on a wide range of matters including drafting termination and severance agreements, addressing wage and hour issues, discrimination, retaliation, and other unfair labor practices.
