Prominent Texas Trial Lawyer Brian Hail Joins KRCL

Commercial litigation attorney Brian Hail has left Gruber Hail Johansen Shank, the firm he co-founded in 2006, to re-join Kane Russell Coleman Logan as a Director in the trial section.

KRCL has added Brian Hail to their ranks following his departure from Gruber Hail Johansen Shank, the litigation boutique firm he co-founded in 2006. Hail is one of the region's most well-regarded trial attorneys. He joins the firm's Dallas office, where he will continue to represent a multitude of clients in high-stakes business disputes, fiduciary and fraud claims, employment-related claims, and other complex commercial litigation as a Director of the firm.

"Brian was previously with our Firm, before departing with Mike Gruber in 1998. Twenty years ago, Brian was an up and coming superstar, and he has achieved enormous success for his clients since that time. We have always admired his dedication and doggedness, and his success as a litigator," said Mike Logan, a founding Director of the firm and Chair of the Litigation Section. "We are very pleased to add Brian's extensive courtroom trial experience to our deep bench in litigation. He tries significant cases and obtains great results for his clients. That was key for us."

Brian is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has nearly three decades of courtroom experience handling complex commercial litigation. Brian's trial record includes 25+ multi-million-dollar judgments, verdicts or settlements on behalf of plaintiffs, primarily in the state and federal courts of Texas. Brian works on both sides of the docket and is known for his work with alternative fee arrangements, including significant work with contingency fees.

"I don't believe the recent merger-mania among law firms and the influx of national firms to Texas serves the best interests of our Texas-based or our national clients," said Brian Hail about his decision to become the newest Director at KRCL. "This firm has an outstanding reputation in the courtroom and in the boardroom, works unbelievably hard for their clients, and delivers excellent results. Many firms claim to be client-focused; I wanted to be part of one that truly is and that is founded on a client-focused work ethic."

Brian is a graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, and has been widely recognized for his exceptional legal abilities since he began practicing law in 1990. Brian was twice honored as one of the Top Attorneys under 40 by D Magazine. He was selected for Best Lawyers in America in 2016-2018 by Woodward White, listed on the Texas Super Lawyers list every year since 2003 by Thomson Reuters, and included on the 2017 Best Lawyers in Dallas list by D Magazine. He was selected "Litigator of the Week" by Texas Lawyer for his $38 million judgment in 2013.
