US Continues to Attract Chinese Investors, Says Viking Tao

The United States is an attractive destination for Chinese investors despite misconceptions that such investments are unwelcome, said Viking Tao in a recent article in China Daily USA about increasing Chinese investments in the US.

Although the Ralls wind-farm case and a congressional report regarding two Chinese telecommunications equipment manufacturers last year indicate concerns over US national security and potential barriers, she said, the huge market, advanced technology, and relatively safe and stable investment environment of the US "are too significant to be ignored."

According to Rhodium Group, a company that tracks Chinese investment in the US, "Chinese acquisitions in the US now under discussion or awaiting regulatory approval have a total value of over $10 billion, the highest ever for the category."

Viking Tao, a frequent contributor to China Daily USA, is a director at Kane Russell Coleman and Logan who works in the China, Business and Corporate, and Real Estate practice groups.
