At Kane Russell Coleman Logan, fostering meaningful growth and preparing the next generation of legal talent are fundamental to our long‑term strategy. We believe deeply in investing in our future, and our Summer Associate Program plays a critical role in attracting, developing, and inspiring the associates who will help shape the Firm’s continued success.

Our summer program is a true rotational experience, intentionally structured to give law students a comprehensive view of life at The Premier mid-sized, full-service business law Firm in Texas. Summer associates rotate through different practice areas and work with a variety of attorneys, gaining exposure not only to the practice of law but also to the business of law, a distinguishing aspect of the KRCL experience.

We offer summer programs in all of our offices (Austin, Dallas, and Houston) providing participants with the opportunity to work alongside some of the most respected and dynamic attorneys in Texas.

Summer associates engage in a wide range of substantive, real world experiences, including:

  • Attending trials and hearings

  • Observing and participating in depositions

  • Drafting legal documents and conducting legal research

  • Participating in deal closings and transactional projects

  • Conducting client and witness interviews

  • Contributing to motions, briefs, and other filings

  • Joining business development meetings and Firm events

Our goal is to ensure that each summer associate receives meaningful, hands-on work that reflects everyday life at KRCL. By the end of the program, students not only strengthen their legal skills but also gain a deeper understanding of how a successful law firm operates and how attorneys build and sustain client relationships.

The KRCL Summer Program is designed to be immersive, educational, and impactful — equipping future attorneys with the insight, experience, and confidence needed to thrive in their legal careers.
